Obliterator Set

Due to the strange occurrence of these cards not being put out 20 years ago and the information being already out there, this section of the website is likely to undergo multiple changes as more informaiton comes available. I will try and update it as often as I can.

This set was announced in a press release from Heathside Trading and BBC Studios on the 28thof May 2026, using the web-series "The Whoniverse Show". Unlike the Retroduction set, released in April 2026, the Obliterator set follows the original style of the Battles in Time Card Game whereby packs of cards are to be opened in order to try and complete a set.

The set itself contains characters and monsters from the "incredible history of Doctor Who - through to the fifteenth Doctor" and "Featuring iconic Doctors, legendary companions, terrifying villains, classic monsters and unforgettable moments from across time and space, this brand-new collection is packed with action, adventure and surprises for collectors and fans alike."

There is a total of 142 cards in this expansion set, which are comprised of:

90 COMMON CARDS

40 RARE CARDS (1:1 packs)

10 SUPER RARE CARDS (1:18 packs)

2 ULTRA-LIMITED VORTEX RARE CARDS (1:720 packs)

6 OVERSIZED BOX TOPPER CARDS (1:36)

Each pack contains 6 cards, featuring "high-spec UV glossed base cards" and rainbow foil enhanced rare cards or premium holofoil super rares, and incredible all-new metallic technology used for the ultra-chase Vortex Rare cards.

Doctor Who Battles in Time: Obliterator is to be released in both a Limited Edition and an Unlimited Edition version of the collection. The Limited Edition was available exclusively from Master Replicas from pre order launch day on 28th of May, with every card featuring a special gold foil Obliterator logo much like the "test print" Exterminator labelled Retroduction cards shown on the "Retroduction" page of this site. The Limited Edition cards are limited to 2,026 display boxes worldwide, with each box sealed using a tamper-proof authenticity sticker.

The Unlimited Retail Edition will feature a silver foil Obliterator logo on every card, as seen on the retail "Retroduction" cards, and will be available to buy for £2.99 per pack.

Accidental Reveal?

During the leadup to the Battles in Time Obliterator release, it was revealed by an unofficial channel the name of the set would be the Obliterator set. Though no other information was revealed. At the time, the planned announcement was going to be the 22nd of May 2026, however a video was uploaded onto TikTok which showed further test print cards with no rarity or set numbers. Only one card was potentially accidently revealed, which held the "Obliterator" set name, however was numbered at the top as "006". The card itself was "KATE" and the description read "As the head of UNIT, Kate believes that it is always better to try science and diplomacy before turning to a military response.

A short time after the video was uploaded it was removed, and the announcement for the cards was delayed by another week during the Whoniverse show on the 28th of May 2026.

New Album

Also released in the announcement was a new album which stores all 142 cards. This was available on the Master Replicas website, for £24.99 and was limited to only 1,000 being made worldwide. Each binder is designed to store all 142 regular cards in side-loading pockets that stop your cards from falling out, and comes complete with a special, oversized collector's card. The images of the album were taken from the Master Replica's website.

Limited Edition Release.

On the 28th of May 2026, at 1600hrs coinciding with the Whoniverse show, the Obliterator set was officially released on the Master Replicas website. The release came with the exclusive albums as shown above and the Limited edition boxes of the Obliterator set. The boxes themselves retailed for £107.64 but were cheaper for those with the collectors club discount.

As above, Doctor Who Battles in Time: Obliterator was released in two editions. The Limited Edition is available exclusively from Master Replicas in sealed boxes of 36 packs. Every card features a special gold foil Obliterator logo, with each box sealed using a tamper-proof authenticity sticker signifying the 2026 Limited Edition release. Each sealed box also contains a Limited Edition oversized card of which there are six to collect.

The cards themselves are due to be shipped in July 2026
