Adventurer Set

The Adventurer Series is a standalone 10-card mini-set released exclusively with Issue 62 of the Doctor Who: Battles in Time magazine. The cards were supplied in a clear plastic wrapper attached to the magazine cover.

The collection expanded Battles in Time beyond the Doctor Who television series by incorporating material from the spin-off programme The Sarah Jane Adventures. The series featured Sarah Jane Smith and her investigative team and had connections to Doctor Who through recurring characters and crossover appearances.

The Adventurer Series was released after the original 52-issue publication plan for the magazine had been extended.

The Adventurer Series consists of 10 numbered playable cards and one additional unnumbered promotional cover card.

Unlike the main Battles in Time collections, the mini-set did not use multiple rarity classifications. All 10 numbered cards were designated as Common (C).

The cards use a separate numbering system with the prefix “SJA”, running from SJA01 to SJA10.

The checklist contains characters, monsters and equipment from The Sarah Jane Adventures. The material covered extends from the programme's opening story, Invasion of the Bane, through to the Series 2 finale, Enemy of the Bane.

The separate SJA numbering system distinguishes the Adventurer Series from the numbered cards belonging to the main Battles in Time collections.
